A shape-shifting alien infiltrates Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, copying each Avenger in turn and banishing the originals to Limbo. Paranoia mounts as the impostor pits Hulk against Iron Man, and when the ruse is exposed—thanks to Thor’s mystic hammer—the Space Phantom is forced back to the void. The victory, however, comes at a price: an enraged Hulk quits the team, leaving a battered but wiser Avengers line-up to carry on without their strongest member.
