Appearing in “The Origin of Daredevil”
At Fogwell’s Gym, Daredevil confronts the Fixer’s thugs and recalls the tragedy that forged his alter-ego: young Matt Murdock saves a blind pedestrian from a truck, is struck by radioactive waste that robs him of sight yet heightens his remaining senses, then secretly trains to master them. When Matt’s father—washed-up boxer “Battlin’ Jack” Murdock—is murdered for refusing to throw a fight, Matt dons a yellow costume fashioned from his dad’s robe. As Daredevil he hunts the Fixer and henchman Slade across New York’s rooftops and subway tunnels, recording their confession and seeing justice done. The victory sets the stage for a new protector of Hell’s Kitchen—and for the legal partnership of Nelson & Murdock with their secretary, Karen Page.
